Edo Superstar is an action-packed beat-em-up game set in feudal Japan, featuring a diverse cast of anthropomorphic animal characters. Follow Masaru, a spirited monkey with aspirations of becoming the most renowned fighter in the realm, as he embarks on a journey to Edo City to participate in the prestigious Zodiac Tournament.
Throughout the adventure, Masaru hones his abilities while evading his former ninja clan, who pursue him for disregarding their teachings in his quest for recognition.
Players take command of Masaru using an innovative gesture-based control system that employs natural swipes and taps instead of cluttering the interface with virtual buttons. Maneuver gracefully to evade strikes, deliver powerful slow-motion uppercuts, deflect incoming assaults, execute intricate combos, and unlock additional skills as the journey progresses.
As Masaru vanquishes adversaries, his reputation grows, allowing him to enhance his attributes such as strength, defense, speed, and special abilities. Accumulated funds from defeated foes can be used to acquire unique items like amulets that alter stats, granting Masaru a competitive advantage in battles. Furthermore, achieving excellence in stages yields special stars that enhance Masaru's gear.
